Padgate Lane WRD is firmly based in the mid-1980s era, and located 'somewhere between Liverpool and Manchester'. An annex of Padgate Lane Depot itself( tantalisingly not modelled - something for the future!), the WRD occasionally acts as a 'depot overflow', with locomotives stored on the factory siding awaiting their next duties. On the layout can be seen a large variety of North West motive power - usually Class 20s, Class 25s and Class 47s - however its not unknown for a dirty Springs Branch '40' to make an appearence! The yard itself is mainly operated by Class 08 Shunters. The WRD itself is responsible for the repair and maintenence for a large amount of the North West's wagon fleet, and this is shown by the sheer variety of wagons seen on the layout. The layout measures 6ft 2ins x 1ft, and is DCC Operated using the Roco MULTIMAUS system. All points are Electofrogs, and manually controlled. |
